Frauenkirche, Elbufer, Bürgeramt, Polizeiwache – for his tour Ziad choose both famous sightseeing spots as well as places of everyday life in the Altstadt of Dresden. He comes up with ideas for all of those places – and connects them with either things happened to him in Dresden or back in Syria, before his escape. One example is his stop at the police station to tell us about the constraints in a country with a totalitarian regime and explain why he strongly values a democratic system.
Even though the war in Syria and his escape over the Mediterranian Sea are still present memories for Ziad, he considers Dresden as a place of arrival. In this city, he began practicing his German language skills, found out what the broadcasting fees are all about and found a new home after a long search.
