The tour starts in Reichenbergerstraße, leads through Kreuzberg past Kottbusser Tor and ends at the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum.

The fields where Muhammed played football as a child have disappeared. They have sunk into the sea. Fish, once a staple food, has become unaffordable for most people. Agriculture, once the backbone of his community, is hardly possible any more. Having grown up in Senegambia, a region that can no longer be found on any map, Muhammed Lamin Jadama has experienced the devastating effects of the climate crisis at first hand.

On his new tour, Muhammed takes you to West Africa — through a walk on his Kreuzberg. What does a petrol station in Berlin have to do with natural resources in Senegal? How does a bureau de change relate to the living situation in his home country? And where does the waste from global mass production end up?

As a political activist and street worker in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Muhammed witnesses how the climate crisis, combined with global power structures, is not only destroying the environment, but also forcing more and more people to leave their homes.
