Matomo uses so-called “Cookies”, these are text files that are saved on your computer and that allow us to analyze the usage of the website. For this purpose, the usage information generated by the cookie (including your shortened IP address) is transmitted to our server and stored for usage analysis purposes, which for our part serves towards web page optimization. 8. Cookies

Cookies are information sets transmitted from our web server or third-party web servers to users’ web browsers and stored there for later retrieval. Cookies can be small files or other types of information storage. At various points, we use cookies to improve our website and services as well as to enable the use of certain features. The users are informed about the use of cookies in the context of pseudonymous range measurement within this privacy statement. 9. Facebook Social Plugins

Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) from the social network facebook.com which is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbor, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”). The plugins are recognizable by one of the Facebook logos (white “f” on blue tile, the terms “Like”, “Like” or a “thumbs up” sign) or are signified by the words “Facebook Social Plugin”. The list and appearance of Facebook Social Plugins can be viewed here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

A user´s device establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers when accessing our online services. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to the user´s device and incorporated into the online services. In the process, user profiles can be created from the processed data. Therefore, we have no influence on the amount of data that Facebook collects with the help of this plugin, so we inform users according to best of our knowledge.

By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that a user has accessed the corresponding page of the online service. If a user is logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to that Facebook account. When users interact with the plugins, for example, by clicking the Like button or commenting, the information is transmitted from the user device directly to Facebook and stored there. If a user is not on Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will identify and save their IP address. According to Facebook, in Germany only an anonymized IP address is stored.

The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as the related rights and setting options for protecting the privacy of users, can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/

If a user is on Facebook and does not want Facebook to collect personal data through the online services and link it to the profile data stored on Facebook, the user must log out of Facebook and delete the cookies before using our online services. Other settings and permissions regarding the use of data for advertising purposes are changeable in the Facebook profile settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads or via the US-American site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU page http://www.youronlinechoices.com/.  The settings are independent of the platforms, which means they apply to all devices such as desktop computer or mobile devices.

10. Twitter buttons

Our website uses Twitter buttons. These buttons are provided by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.  They are recognizable by terms such as “Twitter” or “follow”, associated with a stylized blue bird. With the help of the buttons it is possible to share a post or page of the offer on Twitter or to follow the provider on Twitter.

When a user calls up a web page containing a button, the browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Twitter. The content of the Twitter buttons is transmitted by Twitter directly to the user’s browser. Therefore, querstadtein e.V. has no influence on the extent of the data that Twitter collects with the help of this plugin and informs users according to the best of their knowledge. According to Twitter, only the user’s IP address and the URL of each web page are transmitted, but not used for purposes other than the appearance of the button.
