Originally, Janet intended to visit friends in Berlin on her way home, but she was robbed at night, losing her phone and last money, leaving her stranded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously homeless in various cities, her story in Berlin also begins on the streets.

During her tour through Berlin Mitte, Janet Amon shares her experiences as a woman facing homelessness. She discusses everyday needs like hygiene, her struggles with addiction, the importance of community, and why a shelter alone isn’t a sufficient solution. The conversation also delves into the prevalent street violence, particularly impacting women.

Janet recounts her journey from homelessness to finding a new home, reflecting on her transition from the streets to a more stable life. She also explores how her experiences along the way led to her becoming politically engaged.
